This Planner position is responsible for leading resource planning for the Asset Performance Management (Transmission) Department. The role involves coordinating resources with work plans, managing asset onboarding and planning for preventative and corrective maintenance, informing project teams of resource constraints, and ensuring effective resource planning and tracking for engineering discipline directors. The planner will also contribute to various facility management tasks including job plan creation, Maximo system utilization, asset disposal, safety compliance, building inspections, space planning, and project close-outs. The position requires significant on-site presence with a minimum of three days per week on-site.

Responsibilities:
- Plan departmental work tasks to optimize resource utilization within budgetary constraints.
- Prepare overall project plans, including schedules, critical path, and milestones.
- Partner with the Chief Operating Engineer to create and update maintenance job plans.
- Utilize the Maximo system for documenting and tracking equipment performance and compliance.
- Coordinate and track the disposal of end-of-life assets.
- Support compliance with Environmental Health and Safety and Code Compliance policies.
- Perform building inspections and prepare reports with corrective action plans.
- Prepare preliminary space and furniture layouts.
- Assist with project close-outs, including obtaining "as-built" drawings and manuals.
- Provide backup support to other Facility Management staff.
- Assist with various projects and day-to-day activities as directed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Proficiency with Maximo, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and a design software package (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, or Visio).
- Experience with Work Management Systems and Scheduling.
- Effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of OSHA and construction standard practices.
- Ability to read and annotate architectural drawings.
- 2-year AAS Engineering degree.
- 3-5 years of related construction management or planning experience with A/E's and contractors.
- Valid driver's license.
- OSHA 30 (training available upon hire).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Space planning experience.
- Safety compliance experience.
Special Considerations:
- Must be local to the Tri-State area and in W2 tax status as an hourly paid employee.
- Fully remote positions are prohibited; hybrid schedules are permissible with a minimum of 3 days on-site, but remote work privileges can be revoked.
- NYPA does not provide laptops; candidates must use personal equipment for remote work. Inadequate equipment or ineffective remote work may result in revocation of hybrid privileges.
- Vendors must disclose foreign national status and all Visas.
- Benefits Waiver and Ethics Disclosure will be required during onboarding.
- Overtime is not permitted unless authorized in advance.
- Paid only for time worked; no paid holidays, vacation, or sick days.
Scheduling:
- Monday through Friday, 7.5-hour workday with a .5-hour unpaid lunch.
