Job Description

General Atomics is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an IT Asset Manager The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software and/or hardware license assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts and applicable law and policy. The individual will assist in transformation while forming enterprise / global procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company IT assets while overseeing quality control throughout their lifecycles. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Provide oversight and management for the overall IT asset management program; by leadership and strategy for all encompassing ITAM services + Serve as a point of escalation within the IT organization regarding asset related issues and requests + Define, maintain, and update policies and procedures for effective management of the IT asset life cycle (e.g., acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation, reallocation, and disposal) + Analyze program requirements and assessment methodology to align with company policy, data requirements and risk practices, working cross-functionally to resolve any licensing disputes/issues. + Drive policies and procedures for reclamation & redeployment of endpoints including audit readiness activities + Evaluate, coordinate, and procure software and hardware requested by the company; communicate and negotiate with various vendors; maintain invoices; manage software support and maintenance renewal process Updates and administers asset databases tracking life cycle of all assets + Develop and implement a resilient Asset Management lifecycle program for all hardware & software assets + Research, plan, monitor, and record software license and hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts; maintain and audit global inventory; ensure stock is readily available for dissemination across enterprise + Review usage of licensed products to confirm need and reclaim when possible; ensure all users of software have an appropriate company purchased license; develop reporting to communicate and monitor compliance to include potential recovery of lost revenue + Develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles; help prepare controls and workflows for procurement; assist with form improvement; improve awareness of processes and policy across the business + Continuously identify possible areas of cost savings; track budgeted expenses and coordinate communication regarding budget reporting on a regular basis; assist with budget projections for software, hardware, and IT related services for the various lines of business + Tracking and maintaining an accurate inventory of assets throughout their life cycle by implementing / leveraging CMDB & ITSM tools + Auditing, validating, and reconciling software licenses against the installed asset base + Providing subject matter expertise for personal computer (PC), network, and server licensing + Understanding of DFAR/ITAR regulations, as well as other applicable guidance and laws in regard to finance and procurement activities We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply. 49227 **Job Qualifications:** + Typically requires a bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and nine or more years of progressive information technology experience in a corporate environment. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. + A Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred. + 10 years of progressive Asset Management experience, including Configuration Manager operations and maintenance. + Experience in a multi-location environment, working within an IT Service Delivery function. + Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices in support of developing policies and processes related to all areas of IT asset management. + Understands the value of and need for having IT asset management Standards and established vendors in order to support the stewardship goals of the organization through ease of support and bulk purchasing Preferred Technical Knowledge + Working knowledge of desktop software applications, and ITSM tools (e.g. 0365, SAP, ServiceNow, etc.). + ITIL or IAITAM Certification(s) + Broad CMDB knowledge and experience with ServiceNow HAM/SAM modules as well as ITSM Tools/Reporting and Lifecycle with regards to Information Systems. + Extensive CMDB knowledge and proven experience with ServiceNow HAM/SAM modules + Proficiency in ITSM tools, reporting, and information systems lifecycle management **Salary:** $81,190 - $145,338 **Travel Percentage Required** 0 - 25 **Relocation Assistance Provided** Provided **US Citizenship Required?** Yes **Clearance Required?** No **Clearance Level** null **Workstyle** Hybrid General Atomics is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
