Job Overview Spencer Concrete & Excavation is looking for a skilled and driven Estimator / Project Manager to join our project management team. This dual-role position plays a pivotal part in both accurately estimating civil construction and sitework projects and overseeing them through completion. Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed project estimates and budgets for civil construction projects, specializing in concrete and earthwork.
- Interpret project plans, specifications, and construction documents for accurate quantity takeoffs.
- Utilize estimating software (PlanSwift or similar) to generate cost proposals and bids.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources from preconstruction through completion.
- Coordinate subcontractor quotes, bids, and material pricing.
- Collaborate with field teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Monitor ongoing project progress, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and preconstruction meetings to assess job scope and logistics.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications - College Degree or 5 years of experience in concrete and/or earthwork estimating and project management.
- Strong proficiency with PlanSwift or similar digital estimating platforms.
- Solid understanding of commercial civil construction methods, materials, and practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working both in the office and on-site.
