Overview
We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Electrical Engineer (Electrical Project Engineer) to support a growing facilities design practice based in Hunt Valley, MD . This role involves end-to-end participation in design projects—from concept through construction and commissioning—focused on facilities in sectors such as education, public works, healthcare, transit, water/wastewater, and aviation .
The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience in power systems, lighting, fire alarm, security, and communications infrastructure. This is a growth-oriented position ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and enjoy tackling complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical design computations and prepare construction documents
Develop cost estimates, specifications, and contract plans
Attend client meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Ensure designs meet applicable NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes and quality standards
Participate in construction support and occasional field verifications
Maintain schedule commitments and high-quality deliverables
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
5–10 years of experience in:
Electrical power distribution and generation
Lighting and lighting controls
Fire alarm systems
Telecommunications networks and security systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
Understanding of NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes
Must pass internal Motor Vehicle screening
Preferred Qualifications
PE (Professional Engineer) license
Experience with:
Microsoft Project
Bentley MicroStation
SKM Power Tools or ETAP
AGi32 or ElumTools
Familiarity with electrical testing equipment
Experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies
Local client knowledge at the county or state level
Work Environment & Travel
90% office-based (on-site at Hunt Valley, MD)
Occasional field visits under variable weather conditions
Light lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required
Some regional travel (~90 miles) for meetings and fieldwork
